The Sumitomo Building was once the tallest building in Tokyo, for a short period in 1974. The Sumitomo Building, located about 10 minutes walk, on the eastern side, from Shinjuku train station (Nishi-Shinjuku) The Sumitomo Building has 52 floors, most of which are commercial office space though the top 5 floors (Level 48 - Level 52) is lined with restaurants, most with great views over Shinjuku and Tokyo. Yuian Restaurant (1 review) Japanese Izakaya Restaurant Yuian is located on Level 52 of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building. As well as a great Japanese menu, with a selection of multi-course meals, the views of Tokyo are spectacular.
